A family-run restaurant

Da Pode has been run by the same family for generations: what began as a project by Alfredo, known as Pode, is now carried on by Alessia and Barbara, who continue to innovate and improve it while preserving its original spirit. It is a restaurant that aims to offer a genuine, welcoming Tuscan experience.

Where to eat in San Gimignano

Da Pode Restaurant is the ideal place to eat in San Gimignano if you are looking for traditional Tuscan cuisine. Our menu is designed around seasonality and respect for the ingredients we use. Our recipes come from the local farming tradition: homemade pasta, grilled dishes, seasonal vegetables, all prepared with love for good food and for the land.

What to eat at Da Pode

What to eat at Da Pode? The menu changes periodically, but the great classics of typical Tuscan cuisine remain almost always available, such as bistecca alla fiorentina, handmade pici, and traditional desserts. Our ingredients are simple but of the highest quality, and many come directly from the countryside surrounding the restaurant, including the oil and wine produced at Tenuta Sovestro.

Our story

Da Pode is a family-run restaurant that has made authenticity its signature for years. We welcome anyone looking for typical Tuscan cuisine, in a setting that is both simple and carefully looked after. Behind every dish lies a story of handed-down recipes and a close bond with the Val d’Elsa territory.

The location of Da Pode Restaurant

The restaurant stands just steps from our Hotel Sovestro, in a location that lets you enjoy the Tuscan landscape in every season of the year. The property, a former farmhouse restored in keeping with its original architecture, is surrounded by the countryside of Tenuta Sovestro.

The setting preserves the rural soul of the past: exposed-beam ceilings and terracotta floors. In the warmer months, service moves to the terrace, offering a beautiful view over the olive groves and vineyards surrounding the property, for a typical Tuscan dinner outdoors.
